Dairy Daughters news release 04/04/2012
A new breeding website launched this week has been timed to coincide with the publication of the UK’s first genomic indexes for Holstein bulls (on 3 April 2012).
The website from Dairy Daughters is thought to be the only one available with the facility to generate a list of ‘genomic young sires’ according to the user’s chosen criteria. Lists of mature, daughter-proven sires can be similarly generated.
This facility is available through the ‘Sire Selector’ section of the website, which can be reached through www.dairydaughters.co.uk.
Online ordering is also available, although this facility will be developed further over the following month.
“We are delighted to be launching our new website to coincide with the new genomic indexes and have listened to breeders’ demands for flexibility when listing their bulls,” says Alison Lovell from Dairy Daughters. “Users will be able to rank bulls in their chosen order and see key features – such as prices and sexed semen availability - at a glance.
“Functionality of the website will be enhanced over the weeks ahead, when we will be streamlining the payment process and adding further new features.”
